Can you get banned for buying WoW gold/power leveling?

Brother-in-law got his whole account banned for doing it. It’s not worth it. Play fair, make friends, and you’ll do fine money wise.

buying gold..meh not so much power leveling sites they will ban you. normally on the first offense for a week or two. they get so many reports the get pissed and take it out on you. but dont do it..its so not fun cheating like that. you dont get the personal experience and learning from it.

in any online game, when you take an easy path and basically have something done for you that not everyone has ready access to, it’s bad.
you might argue that anyone can go to these sites, but not everyone can afford them, whatever price may they be.
therefore, putting yourself through those sites is giving yourself some sort of edge.
also, when you suddenly come into a higher level, you may not even know what skills you have. sure, you can LOOK at them, but the real way to know what skills you have is by learning them and using them. then you’ll get used to having such a command, which will be useful for when you actually need it.
example - let’s say that in some game, you have a level 3 rogue. i powerlevel you to level 20. you get in a fight. do you know that you can trip enemies? possibly. do you know how to use encircle? maybe. will you think of it when you’re being attacked by a level 30 behemoth? i doubt it
next, you might wonder how could they even find out? besides reports from other players, if you go from level 3-20 in the space of two days, that’s noticible. while you are being leveled, what if someone tries talking to you? and you just keep moving like a bot?
for gold, one day you might have 1000, the next you’d have 300000. oh, and on a level 3 rogue, having that much money.
also, every command entered gets put into a file, so it’s possible to find when/where you “get gold” and when/where that gold was put there… etc.. tough, but possible.

Why do power leveling? When you make a file in any game, you should try to do everything by yourself. Even if you aren’t perfect and the best character imaginable, at least you can be proud of your character that only you can play right.
